Elise Siew Mooi, WONG

Elise WONG obtained her BSc in Computer Science and MSc from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) in 2009 and 2013 respectively. In her MSc research, she proposed a Genetic Algorithm approach to optimize the effective tags placement of an indoor navigation system. Being a computer science graduate, she has been solving problems related to wireless networks and ICT system optimization. 

 

She has 10 years experience in rural ICT project implementations since 2009 working first as a research assistant, then research officer where she co-designed a number of technological innovations for rural applications. She has vast experience in working with the rural community where she formulated various approaches in providing more friendly system design such as the TPOA Knowledge Portal and Mobile App system, as well as the special training modules for the Orang Asli based on the local context.

   

Projects she has been actively involved and coordinating includes Telecentre Program for Orang Asli (TPOA), Affordable Long Range Wireless Connectivity for Rural Community, DAGS, eBario 2.0, Electrification by Solar Energy in Long Puah, Sarawak.
